FIVE Squared commemorative poster

I was able to add the late additions into the poster.  The final rendition is at the printer.

We started hanging the art on Wednesday, prompting several people to ask if they could drop off a late donation.  The final total is 397 pieces from 191 artists.  We'll be hanging the final 100 pieces today.

FIVE Squared

FIVE Squared benefit art show and sale will open on Sunday, February 2nd and run through March 9th. More than 200 pieces of 5" x 5" art will be available for purchase for $25 each.  Contributing artists... young, old, amateurs, and professionals...hail from seven countries and nine states, with the oldest being 100 and the most distant from China.

Internationally acclaimed artist, activist, and author, Faith Ringgold, contributed two text pieces, signed and dated on the back. Ms. Ringgold's works are in the permanent collections of many notable museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Guggenheim in New York.  She is best known for her story quilts and children's books which weave a colorful history of the black experience in America.

The opening reception will be at the Davis Family YMCA, 45 McClurg Rd, Boardman, Ohio on Feb 2nd from 1-2:30.  This will be the only chance to see the entire collection.  Sale of the art will begin at 2:30, and as it is sold, will be taken off the wall.  All proceeds benefit the Y's Arts & Humanities scholarship fund for under-served children and families in the Mahoning Valley.
