FIVE Squared Success

Thank you to everyone who participated in the FIVE Squared benefit art show and sale, either as a contributing artist or as a patron.  The final tally is in, showing that we raised more than $3500 for the arts and humanities scholarship fund.

Artists were credited with a $25 donation per piece sold, and many donated their remaining works to the Y for use in upcoming events.  That speaks to the generosity of our artistic community!

The next show at the Y will be  centered: slightly off-center,  a senior citizen art show with opening reception on Sunday, June 22nd.  In October, we'll be holding our second But I Know What I Like juried show in conjunction with the sixth annual Afternoon of the Arts.

The Davis Family YMCA is committed to its role as a community cultural space, offering a variety of A&H classes in addition to three yearly art shows.

Half-way mark

Half-way into FIVE Squared, we have sold 115 pieces, and raised more than $3000 for the art & humanities scholarship fund.  If you haven't yet seen the show, now is the time.  There are still 285 beautiful, serene,  realistic, abstract, quirky paintings, drawings, photos, and collages ready to find their way in to your life.  Many artworks from well established local artists are still in the mix, as well as a variety of offerings from amateur and emerging artists from around the corner or around the world.

Opening Reception

The opening of FIVE Squared was a huge success thanks to the 191 donating artists, throngs of patrons, and the great committee and Y staff.  Eighty two pieces were sold.  More stats later, but wanted to get some photos posted.
