FIVE Squared intake update

As of Tuesday, Jan 20th, we have 430 pieces of art, surpassing last year's number!  We are still accepting late arrivals, and will continue to do so until the end of the month (and maybe later).  Keep in mind that unless you email letting us know that you are submitting late, your name may not make the program or poster.  However, your art will still be exhibited in the show.

All art will be hung anonymously.  If/when a piece sells, it will be removed from the wall, revealing a tag which says SOLD and the artist's name.  Artists whose work sells will be credited with a tax deductible donation to the YMCA, with the money going to fund art classes for under-served kids in the community.  A win-win!!

FIVE Squared 2015

As of Saturday, January 17th, we have 275 pieces of art logged in for the FIVE Squared art show! What  an amazing array of ages, skills, media, and subject matter is represented.  If you have not yet submitted yours... fear not.  Even though the deadline is tomorrow, if you let me know that you'll be donating something, we'll happily keep accepting anything that arrives.

We can actually accept art until the very last minute, but late comers risk the chance of not having their names or art recognized in the program and on the poster.  In fact, last year, people submitted until the day before the show, and we squeezed them into the exhibit, just not onto the poster.

Thank you to everyone who has already donated.  Look forward to finding more beautiful, traditional, edgy, modern, dynamic, bucolic, amazing pieces in my mailbox!

But I Know What I Like Awards

But I Know What I Like is a juried art show, open to amateur and professional artists in the tri-county area.   This year 80 artists submitted  176 pieces.  Three non-artists judged the work (as in "I don't know much about art, but I know what I like.")

But I Know What I Like opening reception

The Opening Reception for But I Know What I Like will be on Sunday, October 5 from 1-3 pm.  Everyone is invited to attend, meet the artists, enjoy an afternoon of music, tea in the garden, artists at work, and light refreshments.  Eighty artists submitted 176 pieces of art  which are displayed throughout the Davis Family YMCA on McClurg Rd in Boardman.

Gina Monaco's painting, Serenity, was used as a background for the BIKWIL montage.

Call for Art

The Davis Y will once again host But I Know What I Like, a juried art show judged by non-professionals.  The opening reception will be held on Sunday, October 5th in conjunction with the annual Afternoon of the Arts.

Any adult, amateur or professional, in a 40 mile radius is welcome to enter.  See the prospectus below for more information.
