Resident painters from Ashley Circle, Beeghly Oaks, The Inn, The Manor, Victoria House, and The Ridge were honored at a reception kicking off an art show featuring their work. The Davis Family YMCA welcomed the artists, their families, and friends on Sunday, June 26th at the GaTY. A special thank you to Giant Eagle for providing refreshments, David and Luke Joachim for providing entertainment, Ellie Frank for the fabulous programs, Denise DeBartolo York for her generosity and sponsorship, and everyone else who made this event possible.
The Y is hosting Centered: slightly off-center, an art show featuring 70 paintings by residents of area assisted living and nursing homes. The show will run from June 25-July 26, with an opening reception on Sunday, June 26th from 1-3 pm.
The first annual Anime Fest was held on Saturday, February 19th, as the grand finale to the Art & Humanities Open House Exhibition Week. Organized by Anime Club advisor, Jeff Vargo, the afternoon festivities included music, skits, costumes, origami, face painting, portrait drawing, karate demonstrations, and a movie. The crowd consisted of all ages and numbered about 50.
The Davis Family YMCA in Boardman is holding an Art & Humanities Exhibition Open House the week of February 14-19th. Each day, different adult classes will be taught by expert instructors.
